Why the Bannister 8800 Elite Series is a whole theater, not a starting point.
The Bannister Acoustics 8800 Elite Series is a complete 7.1 home theater sold as one carton: a digital receiver built into the subwoofer, four satellites, a center channel and a 1,000 W Bass ZX bass module, with every cable and bracket included.
Six Cabinets, Six Amplifier Stages
Front left and right at 300 W peak each, a 300 W center, two 300 W surrounds and 1,000 W to the subwoofer — 2,500 W of combined peak power. Real speakers in real positions, not a soundbar reflecting sound off the walls, so an effect behind the sofa comes from a speaker behind the sofa.
Bass on Its Own Amplifier
Forty per cent of the peak power drives the Bass ZX subwoofer from 20 Hz on its own stage, so the low end arrives as physical pressure and the 2.5-inch satellites are never asked to reach below their range.
Detail Where It Matters
Liquid Diamond tweeters keep the highs clean rather than glassy, and Kevlar-reinforced cones hold the midrange together, so dialogue stays legible when the mix is loud. Built-in Bluetooth turns the same system into an everyday music player.
What You Do Not Buy Afterwards
Gold-plated interconnects, hybrid speaker cables, a center-channel stand, four swivel brackets and a tuner antenna are all in the box, so the price is the price of a working room rather than a down payment on one.
